Expanded Deck

Our carpenters are progressing so well on the new room, we talked with them and decided to go ahead with an additional project we had planned on saving for another year. 

This spring, an addition will be built on to the existing deck facing the lake in the rear of the home.  The new part will be two steps lower than the existing structure.  The benefits will be two fold.  First, we will have greatly expanded overall deck surface area, and secondly by removing the railing just outside the kitchen and family room, the view of the water will be unobstructed from inside the house as well as when sitting in a chair on the current deck.  Our neighbor has done this and we have been very impressed with the impact.  Pictures will follow as construction gets started.
